Biography

Wolfrule art originated with Jeffrey Valjean Cook, who goes by either Jeff or "Uncle Jefe". I was born and raised on a farm near the tiny town of Ayrshire, Iowa, and moved to Plainview, Texas at the age of 10. (An old-timer from Plainview once told me: "In Plainview, when your dog runs away, you can see him for three days!")  In the mid-70's I attended college at Rice University in Houston, Texas, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Computer Science. Then I moved to Los Angeles to attend graduate school at UCLA, where I received a Master's Degree in Computer Science. I worked in Los Angeles for many years as a Computer Scientist, eventually attaining the position of "Director of Internal Research and Development" for a computer research laboratory within McAfee Antivirus. I have an extensive professional resume.

I now live on Venice Beach just south of the Venice Pier, having lived in Venice for most of my life – wouldn't live anywhere else, except maybe a get-away near Todo Santos in Baja California Sur, Mexico. If you are curious about how I got interested in my art, check out Wolfrule Origins.
